Roles and Responsibilities
Mike is a Sr. Consultant with LevelBlue working closely with the Vulnerability Scanning Service (VSS) team to deliver penetration testing services for customers. Working with customers across all industry verticals, Mike advises customers on remediation of findings that are both strategic and tactical in nature. These recommendations help mitigate risk and reduce overall threats to the customer’s information security.
Background & Previous Experience
Mike has over 23 years of hands-on experience directly related to information security. Mike has a diverse skillset from programming, systems administration, secure network design, threat hunting, and incident response, to network and web application vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Mike‘s career path that has brought him to LevelBlue’s Consulting includes stops along the way at Pilot Network Services (MSSP) , California Pacific Medical Center (A Sutter Health affiliate hospital), Esurance, and Mandiant/FireEye. Mike has depth of experience across a wide range of industries and knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards like HIPAA and PCI.

Key Highlights and Skills
- Supported all functions within a Security Operation Center (SOC) fully cloud-based environment. Performed Compromise Assessments, Incident Response, Sweeping for Host and Network-based indicators of compromise (IOCs), and reviewed IOC hits for evil. Analyzed large volumes of log data and system artifacts to establish a timeline of attacker activity
